Literacy Course Münster – Learn to Read, Write, and Speak German
Did you learn little or no reading and writing in your native language? Or are you not yet familiar with the Latin alphabet? At WeBiKul e.V. in Münster, we offer the BAMF literacy course – an integration course that combines learning to read and write with learning German.
Who is the literacy course in Münster for?
- Adults who have not learned to read and write in any language (primary illiteracy)
- People who can read and write in their native language, but not in the Latin script (e.g. Arabic, Cyrillic, Chinese, Persian)
- Functionally illiterate people who have lost their basic literacy skills
Course Structure
- Up to 1,300 teaching units of language course (A1 → A2 → B1) including literacy training
- 100 teaching units of orientation course
- Very small groups (max. 12 participants) for intensive individual support
- Specially trained teachers with an additional qualification in literacy teaching
- Münster location: Albrecht-Thaer-Straße 10
- Final exams: DTZ + "Leben in Deutschland" (Life in Germany) test
How You Learn at WeBiKul Münster
In the literacy course, you don't learn "writing first, then speaking" – you learn both in parallel, with specially developed materials, pictures, and listening exercises. We take our time. There is no pressure. You are free to learn at your own pace.

- Reading and writing your own personal details (name, address, date of birth)
- Shopping, public authorities, transport
- Family, housing, health
- Reading signs, advertisements, letters
- Writing simple notes, applications, text messages

What language level will I reach?
The goal is A2/B1 with the DTZ exam – with solid reading and writing skills.
