Participation:
Participation in the integration course is subject to a fee. For foreign nationals, whether there is a legal entitlement to take part in an integration course depends on when they received their residence permit. You can find out more here:
For participants receiving unemployment benefit II (ALG II) or social assistance, participation is FREE OF CHARGE upon application. The cost exemption is valid from the date of issue by the BAMF. We are happy to help you with the application.
German Test for Immigrants (Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer):
After completing 600 teaching units, participants take the "Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer".
The final "Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer" consists of a written and an oral exam section, in which each participant's language competence is demonstrated in skill-based test modules (listening, reading, writing, speaking) at levels A2 and B1. The written exam lasts 100 minutes and includes tasks on listening and reading comprehension. In the last 30 minutes, you write a short letter. The oral section lasts around 16 minutes.
Leben in Deutschland (Life in Germany):
The orientation course comprises 100 teaching hours and is made up of three modules:
- Module I: Politics in a democracy
- Module II: History and responsibility
- Module III: People and society
At the end of the course, the final test "Leben in Deutschland" takes place.
