We offer individual learning support under the Education and Participation Package "Bildungs- und Teilhabepaket" (BuT).
Education Package (Education and Participation)
Since 2011, children and young people receiving benefits under SGB II and SGB XII have also been entitled to benefits for education and participation in the social and cultural life of the community. Out-of-school learning support at Westfälisches Bildungs- und Kulturzentrum e.V. is one of these benefits.
Learning support through the Education Package:
You can receive funding from the Education Package for learning support lessons by submitting an application for your child. Westfälisches Bildungs- und Kulturzentrum e.V. will help you with the paperwork and the application process.
Eligible are recipients of
• Housing benefit (Wohngeld) or child supplement (Kinderzuschlag) • Benefits under SGB II (Hartz IV) • Benefits under SGB XII (social assistance) • Benefits under the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act (Asylbewerberleistungsgesetz)
Funding through the Education and Participation Package (BuT) is possible for your child if the school confirms the need and
• promotion to the next grade is at risk • a higher level of learning needs to be reached • tutoring will improve your children's prospects on the job market or in their career • no comparable support is available within the school
In individual cases, funding is also possible
• to achieve a better secondary school recommendation • during the school entry phase • at special-needs schools (Förderschulen) and comprehensive schools (Gesamtschulen)

The completed applications are submitted to the responsible office.
Step-by-step guide:
1. Does your child need learning support?
Decide together with your child whether learning support is needed. If there are larger gaps in knowledge, learning support may be necessary right at the start of the school year.
2. How much learning support does your child need?
Plan in which subjects and how often per week your child needs learning support.
Too much or too little learning support per week will not bring the desired results. We are happy to advise you on how much learning support is needed.
3. Confirmation from the school
Ask the subject teacher or class teacher to confirm that a learning support measure is necessary (application forms, see above).
4. Submitting the application
Submit the confirmation together with the application to the responsible authority.
The authority reviews your application and sends you the corresponding decision.

Recipients of ALG II/social benefit can submit their applications at the branch offices of MaßArbeit. Recipients of social assistance or benefits under the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act should submit their applications to the social welfare offices in the towns and municipalities of the Osnabrück district.
Anyone receiving housing benefit and/or child supplement should contact the MaßArbeit branch office in Bersenbrück, Melle or Georgsmarienhütte.
